Installing Windows Millennium Edition in Virtual Box
- Using your preferred method download and install Virtual Box onto an ubuntu machine
- Insert a Windows ME disk and create an image on the hard drive by doing
- dd if=/dev/sr0 winME.iso
- Applications » Accessories » Virtual Box
- Create a new virtual machine with the name windowsME
- Set the operating system type:
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows
- Version: Windows ME
- Set the base memory size. A gig should be sufficient.
- Create a new hard disk
- Next » Select Storage Type: Fixed-Size
- Select how much space you want your virtual machine to use
- Next » Finish
- Location: “WinME”
- ..wait…
- Start the virtual machine and install the operating system
