TouchScreen

TouchScreen technology is even more available. But getting the touchscreen to work well with Ubuntu can be a little more problematic then say with other systems. The list of Ubuntu operating systems is for what to do for each of the operating systems. Touchscreens can be fun and it fun to write a applications for them.

Objective

The hole point for this is to write a couple of useful programs for the touchscreen and to see how it works and displays images and programs. This is what was wanted to be accomplished (Write a C or python X program that can interface/utilize a touchscreen).

Materials/Reading/Prerequisites

Materials

  • touchscreen
  • patients “and lots of it”
  • time

Reading

  • I would really start with looking up the touchscreen
  • reading the book that came with it. yes this can be helpful even if its for another operating system

Prerequisites

  • Do some home work (ie. like install it on a operating system that it was made to work with. At lest it can give you an idea of how it works. )

Background

To start this project has been worked on by other student and that is where I started. I was hoping that with a little bit of time and some help that it would work and then I could go to work on making programs that could use its ablatives. But due to not being able to get Ubuntu to work with it was not able to get to that point.

This is what other student did to get it working.

Procedure

There is no procedure for this right now.
