Linux Desktop Install

Objective

The objective to this project is to install a linux distro on to a desktop computer once you complete the instructions under procedure you will have a clean installed ubuntu on a desktop

Procedure

1. The firs step you want to do is go into the boot options of the computer you are installing linux on and set it to boot from nic or (network interface card)

2. Then choose 32 bit then ubuntu 10.4

3. through the next few screens choose your language, location and choose no for auto detect keyboaard

4. choose a username

5. when you come to the screen that prompts you to choose a mirror go to the very top and manually enter in your mirror if installing from the lair which you most likely are enter mirror for the mirror

6. enter through the next two screens hit yes on the screen if the timezone is correct

7. when you arrive at the partition choose guided use the entire disk allow it to format the disk

8. all thats left is for you to choose your user names and passwords
