I don't normally use CLI IRC clients, so it was a new experience to me.
I am still in the part of the course that is simply reinforcing or going over properly what I'm already comfortable with.
So far, nothing has been very challenging because of my past knowledge/experience. I suspect that will change soon.

The file system
In today's class we explored the file system and how to navigate through it.
While I'm very comfortable navigating around and dealing with files, I've never taken the time to learn exactly what should go where, or what all the abbreviations mean.
So far, I'm doing pretty well, this is clearly the class for me and I'm sure I'll be enjoying it a lot.
Nothing particularly challenging yet, but we're now starting to get outside the realm of my comfort zone with redirection and more advanced tricks.

Vim
Today we learned how to use vim
It was an interesting experience, having used nano for a couple years it's very difficult to switch to something else, but I'll give it a shot.
We briefly touched on shell scripting today, which is not something I am very comfortable with yet.
The Opus is definitely the hardest part of the class, not because it's “hard”, but because I just don't know what to write about sometimes.

Foreground and Background Processes
In today's class we explored processes and how background and foreground processes work.
I've never really played with jobs, fg, and bg before, so today was something entirely new.
Nothing too confusing about processes, they're something I'm pretty comfortable with.
The labs are very hard to write comments about, but I'll try my best.
