I will paste instructions here eventually. I was required to do this at another college to login/view my email.
One downside is if you lose your key, it should be revoked and another created. If the key was used to encrypt a file; decryption would be impossible. It's good practice to have 2-3 backups of the keys (usually on separate USB drives).
