The class mailing list will be used to propagate important announcements and allow for interaction between members of the class.

To accomplish this task, you will need to do the following:

1. Go to the web page for the UNIX class mailing list (URL on the syllabus)
2. Subscribe your lab46 account to that list
   1. optionally, you can also subscribe additional accounts if you'd like (but lab46 account MUST be subscribed)
3. Once you subscribe, from your lab46 account, send a test message to the list, with the following criteria:
   1. subject line includes the word: testing
   2. body of the message indicates something to the effect of: “testing, please ignore”
4. Do not send any substantial messages to the list at this point (at least until after the deadline)

Journal fodder: Why is it important to hold off on sending important messages immediately after you subscribe, if you wish for the entire class to receive them?
