You've all been experiencing some of the joys of system administration, through installing/configuring various packages, exploring new functionality, and better understanding some of the inner workings of the system. I've made available another virtual machine for playing with in the UNIX class: vm34.student.lab (I made a "unix" account with the same password). Now, I give you some additional tasks with which to explore: * which is better, nethack or rogue? * create a user on vm34, customizing settings to your liking * how might you enable passwordless access between your account on vm33 and vm34? (ie be able to login from one system to another without it prompting for your password) * set a web server up on vm34 (only one person need do this) * each person set up a simple unique page in vm34's document root * using the ssh tunneling we talked about in class, set up a tunnel so that you can access your vm34 web page from your home computer * document important and useful information, also detailing your efforts in this quest Remember, asking questions is a good thing.
